Join a large international Insurance group as they expand their presence in the Australian market. In this newly created role, you will spearhead 2nd line Risk Assurance in a standalone function. Hybrid, Sydney CBD working environment; enjoy a flat, energetic culture.
Role Overview
You’ll manage risk assurance reviews, uplift control effectiveness, and provide clear insights to senior leaders. Working with Group overseas, you will ensure application of a fit-for-purpose Assurance plan in accordance with APRA standards. Prior LAGIC capital standards will be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver assurance reviews across key business areas
- Assess controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvements
- Produce accurate, actionable reporting for leadership
- Work closely with risk, compliance and operational teams
- Maintain assurance plans, documentation and methodologies
- 5 + years in risk assurance in a Line 2 capacity
- Prior APRA knowledge within general insurance or banking is essential
- Strong understanding of risk frameworks & regulatory requirements
- Ability to analyse controls and present clear recommendations
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder skills
- Detail‑oriented, proactive and structured in approach
