Role Overview
As a Back-End Engineer - AWS , you will play a critical role within this major digital transformation.
Working closely with a dedicated team of Front-End Engineers, you will build and enhance the platform services and cloud-native backend services that underpin customer-facing applications.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on development, modern AWS technologies and collaborating across engineering teams to deliver business-critical outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop and maintain AWS-based platform services
- Build and enhance APIs using GraphQL and API capabilities
- Develop and maintain serverless applications using AWS Lambda
- Write clean, scalable TypeScript code across cloud-native environments - this will be your primary language in this role
- Utilise Python for automation, scripting and engineering efficiencies
- Collaborate daily with Front-End Engineers to deliver integrated solutions
- Support the delivery of customer-facing digital products and user interfaces
- Contribute to platform architecture, performance and scalability initiatives
- Proven experience as a Back-End Engineer or Platform Engineer working within modern software engineering environments
- Strong hands-on AWS experience
- Commercial experience developing serverless applications using AWS Lambda
- Strong TypeScript development skills
- Python scripting and automation experience
- Experience building APIs using GraphQL and API Gateway
- Strong understanding of API design, integration patterns and microservices
- Salesforce platform exposure highly regarded (though not mandatory)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
- Experience working within digital transformation programs
