The Business Development Associate plays a key role in supporting the growth and distribution strategy of an asset management team.
This position involves identifying new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and assisting with sales and marketing efforts.
Success in this role requires a solid understanding of investment products, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to deliver exceptional client service and drive asset growth.
Key Responsibilities -
- Sales & Distribution Support:
Develop tailored proposals, pitchbooks, and fund comparisons to support sales efforts. Manage CRM data, track pipeline activity, and assist in lead generation and client retention. Coordinate investment manager updates and platform reporting. - Client Engagement:
Prepare meeting agendas, summaries, and follow-ups. Support relationship managers in maintaining strong engagement with key stakeholders and platform partners. - Market Intelligence & Events:
Conduct market and competitor research to identify growth opportunities. Collaborate with marketing to ensure timely delivery of materials and smooth execution of events. - Operational Excellence:
Stay up to date on investment strategies, performance, and market positioning. Assist with reporting on sales activity, pipeline metrics, and cross-functional coordination with marketing, operations, and compliance.
Qualifications & Skills -
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (progress toward a Master’s or CFA is a plus).
- 1–2 years of experience in asset management, investment banking, or financial services.
- Familiarity with investment products including equities, fixed income, alternatives, and multi-asset strategies.
