As the Business Development Manager (NSW) , you’ll be the front‑line engine driving new business across commercial real estate, construction finance and mid‑market lending. Leveraging your established broker and borrower networks, you’ll originate high‑quality opportunities while expanding into new channels, referral partners and market segments.

This is a pure growth role, focused on business development, market penetration and building a strong, sustainable deal pipeline. You’ll own relationships end‑to‑end, managing transactions from first engagement through to settlement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Activate and expand your broker, developer and intermediary network to source new commercial lending opportunities—from small‑cap deals to complex structured transactions.
  • Maintain a strong, consistent inflow of opportunities through targeted prospecting, broker engagement sessions, call cycles, roundtables and site visits.
  • Position the business as a preferred lender by demonstrating responsiveness, structuring capability and reliable execution.
  • Grow your referral channels across brokers, aggregator groups, financial advisers, project managers and buyer agents.
  • Represent the brand at industry events, conferences and networking forums to drive visibility and top‑of‑funnel activity.
  • Lead initial deal assessments, structuring discussions, scenario modelling and preparation of term sheets.
  • Partner closely with credit to optimise deal positioning and approval outcomes.
  • Track market trends, competitive movements, pricing shifts and new lending opportunities in real time.
Experience & Skills
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in commercial origination or private credit.
  • An active, credible network of brokers, developers and referral partners.
  • Proven ability to source, structure, negotiate and close commercial lending transactions.
  • Strong commercial instincts and the ability to identify high‑value opportunities.
  • Exceptional relationship‑building and stakeholder‑management abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial, growth‑focused mindset with a drive for revenue generation.
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with credit and operations.
