Role Overview As a Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building and optimising the next generation of cloud‑based data solutions. Sitting within a collaborative data team, you'll work closely with engineers, product specialists, and architectural leaders to deliver scalable, reliable, and high‑quality data pipelines.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and refine cloud‑native data pipelines that power automated, scalable data flows
- Develop solutions across Lakehouse, warehouse, and data‑lake environments
- Write high‑quality Python and SQL for ingestion, transformation, and data quality
- Help transition legacy systems into a modern cloud platform
- Optimise and troubleshoot pipelines to improve performance
- Collaborate within Agile squads , contributing to planning and continuous improvement
- Support CI/CD, version control, and automation practices
- Integrate data from APIs, databases, files, and enterprise systems
- Experience in cloud‑based data engineering (AWS ideal)
- Strong skills in Python, SQL , and Spark technologies such as PySpark or Glue
- Understanding of data modelling principles
- Experience with ETL/ELT development and data integration
- Familiarity with Git , automation, and modern engineering standards
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Exposure to BI/visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau) is helpful
