Leading Australian financial services organisation experiencing strong growth is seeking a DevSecOps / Security Automation Engineer to play a key role in embedding security into modern engineering platforms.
Role Overview
This role sits at the intersection of security, automation, and software delivery, working closely with engineering, cyber and platform teams to ensure security is built into CI/CD pipelines from day one.
You’ll focus on automating security controls, improving visibility across platforms, and enabling teams to deliver at speed while maintaining strong security and risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Embedding and automating security controls within CI/CD pipelines.
- Implementing and operating security testing tools including SAST, DAST, SCA and container scanning.
- Developing automation and scripting using Python, Bash or similar languages.
- Implementing monitoring, logging and alerting for security events and vulnerabilities.
- Supporting vulnerability management and remediation across platforms.
- Collaborating across Cyber, Development, Security and Operations teams to embed security-by-design.
- Contributing to incident response, risk analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting secure access patterns including IAM, secrets management, Zero Trust principles and WAF.
- Strong experience in a DevSecOps, Security Engineering or Platform Security role.
- Proven hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python highly desirable).
- Experience working with application and cloud security tooling.
- Practical experience in vulnerability management and security remediation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset.
