Our client is a major enterprise undergoing significant technology uplift across Corporate Systems. With new strategic and platform teams being established, this role plays a key part in stabilising, modernising and simplifying a complex tech landscape.
Role Overview:
You’ll lead the newly formed Platform Engineering capability , working closely with strategy, architecture, vendors and global partners. This role is hands‑on leadership with a mandate to modernise, consolidate and uplift platform engineering practices.
You’ll lead a small and strong team both on-site and offshore, ensuring alignment, capability uplift and consistent delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead platform engineering in an AWS environment
- Drive simplification, automation & platform health
- Drive Workforce Systems strategy across the Australian business
- Embed event‑driven architecture & API‑first integration
- Lead a
- Lift observability, monitoring & incident management
- Oversee vendor delivery and governance reporting
- Strong engineering leadership and experienced across AWS (Glue, Lambda, S3, etc)
- Experience with Node, Python, Java & Angular
- Workforce systems experience ( Workday preferred - HCM & PY - or similar)
- Experienced in managing critical platforms in the F inancial Services industry (Superannuation / Insurance / Funds Management / Investment, etc).
- Background in platform operations, automation & reliability
- Event‑driven design & modern API integration
- Strong people leadership across distributed teams
