Company Overview

Join the regional finance team of a leading pan-Asian investment group with strong roots in Greater China and a growing presence in Australia. This Sydney-based role offers an exceptional opportunity to work at the heart of cross-border finance operations, providing critical support to the Asia-Pacific finance function, and maintaining strong communication channels with senior stakeholders in Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Manager to support the regional finance team in delivering group reporting, policy compliance, and financial control processes. This role plays a key part in aligning Australian operations with group-level reporting standards and regulatory frameworks governed by Chinese authorities.

You will work across business units with regular interaction with colleagues in Beijing and Hong Kong, providing an opportunity to deepen your understanding of cross-border finance in the investment banking and capital markets sector.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee share registration activities including new entity setup, share capital changes, and other lodgments.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Secretary and China-based finance teams to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Manage intercompany loan elimination processes and resolve variances in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Lead Group Pack reporting including financial disclosures, abnormality diagnostics, and audit responses.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating accounting policies in line with regulatory guidelines.
  • Support annual reporting, data validation, and regulatory submissions.
  • Conduct balance sheet substantiation and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • Provide financial input on regional projects and ad hoc initiatives.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position, ideally within investment banking or financial services.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential for cross-border communication.
  • Strong grasp of IFRS, financial controls, and familiarity with Chinese regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, macros); experience with SAP is advantageous.
  • Previous exposure to audit or regulatory reporting.
  • Highly organised, analytical, and confident working independently in a dynamic environment.
What’s on Offer

If you're fluent in Mandarin and English, this role lets you leverage your language skills and cultural understanding to play a vital bridge role between Australian operations and Chinese head offices. It’s an opportunity to shine as a bilingual finance professional in a globally integrated organisation.
