A mid-sized ASX-listed financial services provider is seeking a Financial Accountant
to support their finance team during the year-end period. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure across taxation, FP&A, and financial control, with strong potential to transition into a permanent role.
- CBD location with flexible working arrangements
- Initial year-end contract with view to permanency
- $110k–$120k + super (annualised)
Role Overview
This role supports the finance team across financial reporting, taxation, and FP&A functions. As part of a listed entity, the successful candidate will contribute to both BAU and strategic finance initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing general ledger activities, including posting journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations
- Preparing tax effect accounting (ITR, GST, FBT, PRT, R&D) and liaising with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure full tax compliance
- Assisting with monthly rolling forecasts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), financial modelling, and covenant reporting
- Providing insights on key business drivers
- Supporting year-end ASX reporting requirements and external audit processes
Desired Skills & Experience
- 4-5 years relevant experience
- Financial services industry experience highly desirable, but not a must
- Taxation experience
- Polished communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Degree in Accounting
- CA / CPA qualified highly desirable
