Role overview
The Chief Risk Officer will be responsible for shaping and leading the firms credit risk strategy and frameworks, working closely with the Senior ExCo and Board ensuring a balance between commercial growth and prudent risk management.
- Define and embed the company's credit risk strategy and apatite while developing and maintain the credit risk framework and policies.
- Provide independent oversight of all credit decisioning while serving as chair of the Credit Committee.
- Review, structure and approve complex credit proposals while guiding credit analysts and deal teams.
- Monitor the performance of the credit portfolio
- drive enhancements in risk modelling and stress testing.
- Build, mentor and lead a high performing credit risk team.
Skills & Experience
This opportunity would suit a seasoned, hands on senior credit risk professional who has extensive experience in credit risk leadership within non-bank lending, structured finance and enjoys using risk as an avenue of driving business growth and development. You will also
- Have demonstratable experience assessing and structuring complex business lending transactions.
- Solid understanding of SME, mid market and corporate credit risk.
- The ability to balance commercium acumen with good risk management.
- Excellent leadership and team development capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- In-depth understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks.
