Position Title:
     Insurance Pricing Analyst based in Melbourne (hybrid model)
     
Position purpose
    
Australia's $2.7 trillion superannuation industry is facing into a shifting landscape influenced by increased regulatory pressures, disruptive technologies, changes in demographics and ever-changing member expectations. It is critical that to understand and address these forces of change and are also able to adapt at a faster pace to respond to new challenges and capitalise on new opportunities.  
 
Reporting to the Principal Insurance Pricing, the Insurance Pricing Analyst will play a critical role in supporting both technical pricing analysis and stakeholder engagement. 
 
This role will assist with insurance reporting, product reviews, and analysis of insurance data to ensure competitive and compliant pricing strategies. Key responsibilities include implementing pricing changes initially, with opportunities to contribute to pricing recommendations as you develop in the role.
 
  Key responsibilities:  
  • Support premium changes by updating collaterals and calculators
  • Calculate premium erosion levels
  • Support the analysis of member needs report
  • Conduct product reviews and analyse insurance data for enhancement and recommendation papers
  • Prepare and review regulatory reporting
  • Undertake actuarial and product research to support initiatives and projects
  • Prepare competitor comparisons (pricing, terms and conditions)
  • Analyse claims trends and prepare reporting
 
Capabilities and Experience
     Qualifications
    

·        Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking
·        Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
·        Ability to build effective relationships and manage stakeholders
·        Proactive, collaborative, and able to work under pressure
·        Experience in either superannuation, insurance and financial services.
·        Knowledge of insurance regulations and APRA requirements
·        Familiarity with group insurance market trends
·         Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or a related discipline (either Qualified and continuing towards qualification)
.         At least 2 years pricing experience across following products - Income Protection, Total & Permanent Disablement and Death Cover
·         Strong technical skills in Excel, VBA, and SQL
