Role Overview
As an Observability Engineer, you will:
- Support and maintain an enterprise-grade observability platform built on the Elastic Stack.
- Implement end-to-end visibility across infrastructure and applications to enable proactive monitoring and performance insights.
- Drive anomaly detection and root cause analysis to ensure operational excellence and business continuity.
- Integrate logs, metrics, traces, and synthetics into a unified observability pipeline.
- Develop and maintain Kibana dashboards, visualisations and alerting mechanisms aligned with SLIs and SLOs.
- Implement machine learning models for anomaly detection and predictive analytics.
- Optimise data ingestion, transformation, and storage to enhance performance and scalability.
- 5+ years’ experience working with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats, APM).
- Strong understanding of observability concepts – logs, metrics, traces, SLIs/SLOs.
- Proven experience with data ingestion pipelines, parsing, enrichment, and indexing.
- Knowledge of machine learning and anomaly detection strategies.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry (OTEL).
- Knowledge of ITIL practices.
- Exposure to CI/CD automation and infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
