The role
Playing a pivotal role, you’ll be accountable for the end-to-end ownership of a large-scale AWS cloud platform, with a strong focus on managing an outsourced managed service provider while also driving transformation, optimisation, and innovation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and evolve the AWS cloud platform strategy, roadmap, and service catalogue
- Provide day-to-day oversight of the cloud managed service provider, ensuring SLA performance, delivery quality, and governance
- Drive continuous improvement across SRE, DevSecOps, automation, and AI adoption
- Ensure platforms meet security, risk, regulatory, and compliance requirements within a financial services environment
- Oversee incident, problem, change, and request management across cloud services
- Act as the voice of the customer to vendors and cloud partners
- Support platform upgrades, licensing compliance, and operational stability
- Partner with internal teams to align cloud capabilities with project and business needs
- Manage cloud financials, budgets, contracts, and vendor invoicing
You will bring strong experience across:
- AWS cloud platforms in large, complex enterprise environments
- Managing outsourced cloud managed services (delivery, governance, ROI, and vendor performance)
- Cloud platform operations, transformation, and modernisation
- Financial services or other highly regulated environments
- Infrastructure and cloud engineering leadership
- Risk management, compliance, and governance frameworks
- Budget ownership, commercial management, and cost optimisation
- Project and delivery management within platform environments
