Role Overview
We are looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join a high performing investment team based in Sydney. Supporting a small team of Australia based Portfolio Managers and working closely with colleagues across APAC you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth portfolio operations, accurate data management, and insightful reporting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone from a fund operations, middle office, or capital markets background who enjoys analytical “hands-on” work and wants exposure to portfolio management processes, particularly within fixed income and bond markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational and analytical support to Portfolio Managers across Australian portfolios
- Maintain and reconcile portfolio data, ensuring accuracy and integrity
- Prepare performance and exposure reports, and assist with portfolio monitoring
- Support analysis and reporting for fixed income and bond portfolios
- Liaise with traders, operations, and technology teams across the APAC region
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and reporting tools
- Experience in fund operations, middle office, structured products, or capital markets
- Exposure to fixed income or bond markets highly regarded
- Strong Excel skills — confident manipulating large datasets and solving problems on the fly
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical ability
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable managing multiple deliverables
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Advanced Excel including coding or data tools (Python, VBA, SQL) a plus, but not required
- A genuine interest in financial markets and investment operations
- Sydney CBD location with hybrid working arrangements (1–2 days from home)
- Exposure to experienced Portfolio Managers and investment professionals across APAC
