Role:
Product Operations Lead – Cards
We’re seeking a Product Operations Lead to take ownership of the operational performance of card products and the partners that enable them. As Product Operations Lead, you will be the primary point of contact for the day-to-day operations of key partners supporting card products.
You will ensure all operational processes meet or exceed regulatory and scheme requirements while driving performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead operational management of scheme and payment partners
- Oversee card bureau operations and ensure adherence to scheme card issuing guidelines
- Ensure ongoing compliance with scheme rules and proactively manage risks, including avoiding penalties or securing waivers where required
- Monitor and optimise system interfaces with scheme platforms, supporting issue resolution and business continuity
- Act as a subject matter expert in payments, delivering insights, training, and operational guidance
- Manage vendor relationships across key partners maintaining regular engagement with vendors to track performance and upcoming changes
- Oversee card issuing, manufacturing, payment processing, statement production, and loyalty or CVP partnerships
- Support and lead projects related to schemes, payment systems, and switching
You will have:
- Extensive working knowledge of credit card products (10-15 years) and their functionality (both Scheme and Private Label).
- Demonstrated leadership experience (5+ years) with the ability to drive outcomes and build strong stakeholder relationships
- Strong knowledge of card platforms (e.g. VisionPLUS), scheme rules, and payment processing (authorisation, clearing, settlement)
- Extensive and in-depth knowledge of the Scheme Operating Rules and payment systems.
- Ability to interpret scheme updates and assess business impact
- Proven project management experience, including vendor and stakeholder management
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Highly organised, proactive, and customer-focused mindset
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
This is a 12-month full-time day rate contract with a competitive day rate on offer for candidates with relevant experience.
You’ll be working at the intersection of a global payments network and a major financial services business, within a collaborative Product and Product Operations team that values problem-solving, continuous improvement, and customer-focused outcomes.
