Role Overview
As Regional General Manager – Bayside & Peninsula , you will lead SME Banking teams across one of the organisation’s most dynamic and diverse regions. Reporting into senior executive leadership, you will set strategic direction, drive performance and create a culture where people feel supported, accountable and proud of the impact they make.
This role requires a visible, relationship‑led leader who can balance commercial growth , credit and risk management , and people leadership , while building strong partnerships with customers, community stakeholders and internal teams.
This is a full‑time role based in Naarm, on Bunurong Country (South‑Eastern Kulin Nation) , with flexibility in how and where work gets done.
   
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and developing high‑performing SME Banking leadership teams across the region
  • Driving strong commercial outcomes across lending, deposits and balance sheet performance
  • Providing disciplined oversight of credit, risk and compliance frameworks
  • Building trusted relationships with SME customers, community partners and internal stakeholders
  • Creating an inclusive, values‑led culture aligned to organisational standards and Code of Conduct
  • Empowering leaders to grow capability, confidence and succession depth
   
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience leading commercial or business banking teams within SME or mid‑market segments
  • Strong working knowledge of credit assessment, risk and compliance within a regulated environment
  • Demonstrated success managing balance sheet performance across a diverse portfolio
  • Customer‑first mindset with highly developed relationship‑building capability
  • Sound commercial judgement with confidence in complex decision‑making
  • Collaborative, values‑driven leadership style with a strong people focus
