Role Overview
Reporting into the Head of Data Engineering, this role will design and develop the fund’s semantic data layer, working closely with data engineering, investment teams, and enterprise technology stakeholders. You will shape ontologies, taxonomies, and knowledge graph structures that underpin critical investment and operational insights.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain ontologies, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies
- Build and evolve enterprise knowledge graphs using PoolParty and GraphDB
- Model complex investment, ESG, risk, and operational domains
- Implement semantic standards across metadata, RDF/OWL, SKOS, and SPARQL
- Partner with data engineers to integrate semantic models with structured and unstructured data
- Support semantic search, entity linking, and reasoning use cases
- Contribute to governance frameworks and semantic data quality processes
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with knowledge graph technologies
- Hands‑on capability with PoolParty and GraphDB
- Expertise in ontology engineering, taxonomy design, and semantic modelling
- Proficiency in RDF, OWL, SKOS, SPARQL and W3C semantic standards
- Ability to translate domain knowledge into structured semantic models
- Strong communication skills for working with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
