About the Role
Reporting directly to our Business Services & Taxation Principal, this role is ideal for an experienced Senior Accountant looking for more autonomy, client contact, and a real sense of contribution. This role has the potential to grow into a management position after the first year when the team expands further.
You'll work closely with a friendly and experienced team, supporting a portfolio of SMEs, tackling tax challenges, and leading conversations that help small businesses succeed.

- Prepare financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals, and SMSFs
- Prepare and review tax returns, BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and reconciliations
- Mentor junior staff and review their work including assisting in bookkeeping and payroll
- Experience working with startups
- Lead client meetings and provide practical tax advice
- Highly skilled in Xero software
- Use MYOB AE, Tax Assist, Adobe Sign, and Microsoft Office tools efficiently
- Stay up to date with tax legislation and research complex tax issues
You'll Bring
- A Bachelor of Business/Commerce (Accounting) and CPA/CA/NIA qualification (highly regarded)
- 7+ years of public practice experience in a senior or intermediate role
- Strong technical tax knowledge and understanding of compliance requirements
- The ability to communicate clearly with clients
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and manage own work flow/budgets
- Experience preparing high-quality work with attention to detail
- Advanced skills using Xero, MYOB AE, Adobe Sign, and Excel
- Experience with individual tax return preparation
- A solid grasp of trust and superannuation law fundamentals
- A proactive mindset and love solving real problems for real businesses
