Role Overview
As Business Development Manager, you will leverage your network to identify, engage, and close new loan facilities while maintaining strong broker and client relationships. Reporting to senior leadership, you’ll play a key role in driving growth and shaping strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy your network to source and close new loan facilities from brokers and direct clients
- Maintain, deepen, and expand broker and client relationships
- Build and manage a robust pipeline with clear metrics: prospects → meetings → diligence → approval → settlement
- Lead pitch development, including proposals, term sheets, and scenario analyses
- Monitor broker and borrower feedback, address concerns, and ensure high service levels
- Stay informed on market and competitor trends, feeding insights into product development
- Represent the firm at industry forums, conferences, and investor events (including interstate)
- Provide accurate forecasts, reporting, and strategy updates to leadership
- Liaise with credit teams to achieve optimal outcomes for brokers and clients
- Proven experience in business development within financial services or lending
- Strong broker and client relationship management skills
- Ability to structure proposals and negotiate complex deals
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Commercial acumen and strategic thinking
- Familiarity with credit processes and lending products
