The role
In this hands-on senior engineering role, you’ll combine technical delivery with platform ownership to build and evolve reusable IaC modules, automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines. You’ll work closely with platform engineers, developers, security, and governance teams to enable self-service, policy-compliant infrastructure provisioning at scale.
Play a key role in shaping IaC standards, improving developer experience, embedding guardrails and security controls whilst continuously enhancing platform reliability and automation maturity.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reusable, policy-compliant IaC modules and templates
- Contribute directly to CI/CD pipelines, orchestration scripts, and automation frameworks
- Drive self-service infrastructure through service catalogues and onboarding enablement
- Embed security, compliance, tagging, and policy-as-code into IaC workflows
- Collaborate with cloud, security, and governance teams to meet regulatory requirements
- Act as a subject matter expert for IaC best practices across the organisation
- Support operational issues, continuous improvement, and platform optimisation
- Promote a culture of automation, reuse, and infrastructure-as-software
- Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation or similar)
- CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling
- Enterprise cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and/or GCP)
- Secure-by-default infrastructure design and cloud governance
- Platform engineering or DevOps roles in large, complex environments
- Stakeholder engagement and cross-team collaboration
- A continuous improvement mindset and passion for automation and innovation.
