We’re looking for a Senior Mainframe Developer with deep COBOL expertise to help design, enhance, and modernise our high-volume, business-critical applications.

What you’ll be doing
- Design, develop, and support COBOL and CAP COBOL applications on z/OS , supporting large-scale, high-volume transaction processing
- Maintain and enhance IMS online and batch systems , ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience
- Build and support data processing solutions using DB2, IMS DB, and sequential file structures
- Act as a subject matter expert in mainframe development, helping define coding standards, best practices, and modernisation approaches
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory obligations across all development activities
- Drive innovation by applying an AI-first approach to automate coding, testing, data mapping, orchestration, and documentation
- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL development within large enterprise or banking environments
- Exposure to or experience with CAP COBOL in production systems
- Proven experience working with IMS DB , including data access, schema design, and integration
- Solid understanding of z/OS mainframe environments
- Experience with Endevor for source code management
- Familiarity with modern tooling such as Git and Bitbucket
