Role Overview
As an experienced and detail oriented Senior Financial Accountant, you will join a leading Australian superannuation fund in Sydney on contract for up to 6 months. You will support core financial reporting, APRA compliance, and planning & analysis activities, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting, regulatory compliance, and high quality financial outputs. This role is ideal for a technically strong accountant with prior exposure within a regulated financial services company.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform trial balance and variance analysis to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial results
- Support month end close processes including reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting deliverables
- Coordinate and prepare APRA returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory deadlines
- Assist with APRA reporting set-up, validation processes, and documentation for audit readiness
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes
- Contribute to financial investigations and ad hoc project work, providing insights and analytical support
- Qualified accountant (CA/CPA)
- Exposure to a regulatory environment within financial services
- Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret complex financial information and identify issues or anomalies
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to work independently to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Professional approach to handling confidential financial information
- 6-month contract role based in Sydney CBD with hybrid work arrangements
