Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Data, this role leads the Data Governance & Data Operations function, partnering closely with Technology, Compliance and the business to ensure data is governed, trusted and fit for growth.
You will own governance outcomes end-to-end, balancing regulatory obligations with commercial delivery, and managing multiple priorities concurrently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading delivery of the Data Governance Framework across data quality, cataloguing, controls and compliance
- Owning Consumer Data Right (CDR) governance and operational readiness
- Establishing pragmatic AI governance practices as the organisation scales
- Defining data standards, ownership models and issue management processes
- Running governance operations, demand intake and prioritisation
- Managing and developing a small, high-impact team
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to influence outcomes without bureaucracy
- Previous experience in data governance, data operations or data management leadership including leading small teams
- Experience operating in fast-paced, growth environments with competing priorities; suited to backgrounds in consulting, fintech, scale-ups
- Hands-on experience implementing governance frameworks essential (not advisory-only)
- Strong executive-level stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
- Exposure to regulatory environments; CDR experience highly regarded
- $200k–$210k inc. Super + 15% bonus
