Senior Project Manager – Climate Disclosure & Financial Reporting
There is an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager focused on climate disclosure and financial reporting compliance. This is a crucial, high-visibility role working closely with the CFO and senior stakeholders to lead the program ensuring the organisation meets Australia’s new mandatory climate-related disclosure requirements.
  • Contract: Initial 6 months (with potential extension)
  • Daily rate: Market rate
  • Working arrangement: Flexible / hybrid
Regulatory context Australia’s Corporations Act now legislates mandatory climate-related financial disclosures for large entities, with formal reporting for certain funds and corporations commencing for financial years starting 1 July 2026. These disclosures are expected to align with AASB climate standards that reflect ISSB/TCFD frameworks, and prudential guidance such as APRA’s CPG 229 outlines expectations for governance and integration of climate risk into risk management and reporting.
Key responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end regulatory uplift program for climate disclosure compliance.
  • Establish and maintain program foundations including scope, governance, milestones, and risk management.
  • Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams including Investments, Risk, Finance, Operations, Sustainability, Data & Technology.
  • Deliver enhancements to risk frameworks, controls, processes, and reporting, and build a sustainable operating model for annual climate disclosures.
  • Support scenario analysis, emissions measurement, and transition risk methodologies, and prepare the organisation for assurance and regulatory sign-off.
Why this role matters
  • Mandatory legislation with no opt-out, requiring robust governance, auditability, and high-quality reporting.
  • High board-level visibility with direct impact on risk appetite, investment decision-making, and regulatory compliance.
  • Opportunity to lead a multi-stream regulatory program that demands strong stakeholder engagement, disciplined delivery, and effective change management.
  • Work in a dynamic, well-supported environment where your contributions shape strategic ESG and reporting capabilities.
Ideal candidate profile
  • Senior Project Manager with strong regulatory delivery experience and confidence engaging senior Finance, Risk, and Investment leaders.
  • Proven experience leading data- and reporting-centric transformation or regulatory uplift programs.
  • Strong ability to translate evolving regulatory standards into practical delivery plans, governance structures, and operating models.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, with solid project governance, risk management, and PMO discipline.
  • Climate or sustainability expertise is a plus, but regulatory or financial reporting experience is paramount.
