We’re hiring two Solution Architects to join a growing Cloud & Infrastructure group within a highly regulated financial services environment. These roles sit within a Centre of Excellence for Engineering , supporting enterprise-scale initiatives across a complex multi‑cloud ecosystem.
If you’re an experienced architect who enjoys leading technical thinking, guiding teams, shaping standards, and influencing senior business stakeholders, without needing to be overly hands‑on, this is a high‑impact opportunity.
What You’ll Do:
You will oversee solution design and architectural governance across a broad technology landscape including AWS, Azure, Oracle and Google Cloud. Your remit includes:
Architecture Leadership
- Define current, transition, and target state architectures for cloud and infrastructure projects.
- Lead and mentor two architecture teams, supporting interviews, hiring, and capability uplift.
- Provide design leadership across enterprise technology domains.
- Ensure patterns, standards, and governance are followed across a complex, regulated environment.
- Work across a 60/40 AWS–Azure landscape, including Oracle and Google Cloud platforms.
- Assist in delivering SaaS integrations into highly complex environments.
- Support bank‑wide initiatives, compliance uplift programs, and multi‑cloud platform improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams building out IaC patterns, CI/CD pipelines, self‑service repositories , and cloud hosting patterns.
- Contribute to the Centre of Excellence for Engineering and help drive uplift in infrastructure best practice.
- Present architectural recommendations to business leaders and executives.
- Partner with engineering, security, cloud operations, governance, and delivery teams.
- Bridge discussions between business and IT—helping teams understand trade‑offs, constraints, and design principles.
- Strong experience as a Solution Architect or Senior Engineer within cloud or infrastructure domains.
- Experience in highly regulated industries (financial services preferred).
- Strong understanding of SaaS integration patterns in complex enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and multi‑cloud hosting models.
- Able to lead architecture interviews and mentor junior architects.
- Excellent communication skills—comfortable presenting to execs.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
- Capable of driving clarity in ambiguous environments.
- Experience with IaC, CI/CD and cloud automation platforms.
- Exposure to governance forums or architecture review boards.
- Ability to talk through what you put in a design, governance approaches, and decision‑making frameworks.
