Greg Kirk

Chair

Greg has 30 years’ experience in financial Services, holding various senior management roles in funds management, financial planning, banking, building societies and trustee companies. Greg created one of Australia’s largest contemporary financial planning businesses and has worked with major players in Australia’s financial services sector including ANZ, AMP, Challenger Financial Services and AXA Asia Pacific.


Greg joined Profusion in 2014 and moved to a Board role in 2021. He was appointed as Chair in 2023.

Matt Bennett

Chief Executive Officer

Matt has worked in the recruitment industry since the early 1990’s, working as a consultant across financial services, technology, and commerce & industry in both temporary and permanent recruitment. Matt moved to Hong Kong with Robert Walters in 2000 and was appointed to run the local office in 2009. In 2011, he was given the additional responsibility of leading the Thailand office as well as starting up a new office in Taiwan. In 2013 Matt was appointed to the role of leader for the Greater China business consisting of 200 staff across five offices in the region. 


Matt relocated to Australia in 2021, joining Profusion as its Chief Executive Officer.

Simone Mears

Executive Director

Simone is a Founding Partner of Profusion.  Post-graduation, Simone commenced her career in sales and marketing with Kodak before moving into recruitment in the late 1990’s. Her recruitment career has focused solely on financial services, of which has been predominantly spent working at executive level, placing roles across the C-Suite and general management. Simone remains active in the market and is also member of the senior leadership team.


Simone has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of New South Wales. She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Ashton Bilbie

Executive Director

Ashton is a Founding Partner of Profusion.  He commenced his recruitment career in 2000, working for Adecco in Wellington before relocating to Australia in 2003. Ashton’s recruitment career has focused solely on financial services enabling him to build an extensive network and knowledge base in the sector over 20-plus years. Ashton remains active in the market and is also a member of our senior leadership team.


Ashton has a Bachelor of Commerce from Victoria University, Wellington.

Rod Jones

Non-Executive Director

Rod is one of founders of Profusion and was the Chief Executive Officer until 2021. Before Profusion, Rod spent 12 years as an investment banker with Rothschild Australia and NM Rothschild & Sons London. He worked across four continents, specialising in derivatives, foreign exchange, fixed interest and resource banking. In 2000, Rod joined the New York based start-up, Kiodex, a web-based technology company specialising in commodity risk management. As the Vice President of sales, Rod oversaw the development of the sales team which took the product to market in 2001.


Rod has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Technology Sydney, and he is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Daniel Belcher

Non-Executive Director

Daniel is the Managing Director and a Partner at private equity firm Redwood North, which took a stake in Profusion in 2021. Prior to joining Redwood North Daniel was a Consultant with McKinsey working in Sydney and New York.  Daniel is the Chair of Australia’s leading provider of refrigerated transport solutions, Scully RSV. He is also on the board of events and media company, FST Media, the aged care and disability training group InterCare Training, and the national patient and advocacy group Melanoma Patients Australia.  An active sailor, Daniel is currently Secretary General of the Oceania Sailing Federation and was previously on the Board of Australian Sailing for 8 years, and its President for 3 years. 


Daniel has a Bachelor of Commerce from Bond University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
